Plankton Foiled Again

Let’s take a look at a brief Tooncast showing the editing power of Tooncast Studio. In this short story, Plankton approaches the Chum Bucket and works the computer to copy the Krabby Patty recipe – to disastrous results. Plankton runs, jumps and convulses across the sky during the ensuing nightmare of the perfect Krabby Patty. This Tooncast includes 15 sound effects and 3 music loops to create the soundtrack.

One of the NetToons highlights at Comic-Con was running into Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons. Fifteen years ago, Matt worked with NetToons co-founders Jim and Jake Myrick to create the million-selling The Simpsons Cartoon Studio for FOX, which leveraged Jim and Jake’s first platform for real-time animation.

Matt was surprised to learn that 15 years later Simpsons fans are still using Cartoon Studio. Some are even uploading their creations to You Tube. Talk about a user experience with longevity!

With SpongeBob SquarePants Tooncast Studio, fans can animate SpongeBob and his friends in hundreds of different ways by making them walk, run, jump, dance, and much more—all to the tune of a custom music soundtrack. An intuitive tutorial feature helps users create fun SpongeBob stories using a wide variety of background images, special transitions and effects, and character voices—just like in the show. Once created, a simple click lets users share their masterpieces with friends through email or social media.

Join us at Comic-Con July 21-14, where we are launching SpongeBob SquarePants Tooncast Studio. Tooncast Studio will be published by Smith Micro and we’ll be at the Smith Micro booth #5353 doing demos throughout the show. Tooncast Studio lets fans of all ages animate SpongeBob and their favorite Bikini Bottom residents and share their creations through social media.

During the show NetToons CEO, Jim Myrick, will join all-star artists for a panel presentation titled “Join the 2D Animation Revolution” Thursday, July 21 from 2:00-3:00PM (room 30CDE). The panel will discuss how software resources can give artists all the tools, confidence, and experience they need to create their own masterpieces and jump on television’s hottest trend.
